A slow beginning

Oh dear! I've made a very slow start on this life drawing journey. A busy summer turned into a ridiculous Autumn and I just haven't had much chance to go to life drawing. The first week back to life drawing was a bit of a disaster so I won't post those drawings! 

However here is a drawing from this weeks class. A slight improvement on previous weeks. Hopefully I will be able to improve further in the future.

The Beginning...

Having been to some pretty rubbish art colleges in the past, I'd never actually been taught life drawing. I have attempted to go to untutored life drawing groups, but with no clue what I was doing felt lost.
I finally decided it was about time I went to learn properly and went on a three full day beginners course at City Lit last week along with my good friend Elisabetta. We enjoyed it so much that we're going to carry on learning.

I still have a very long way to go, but hope that in the long run it will help me illustrate some more interesting characters for my children's illustration work. I have set up a blog here to document my attempts at life drawing, hopefully I'll see some progress along the way!
